No Surprise Act
Effective January 1, 2022, a law went into effect called the “No Surprises Act.” The law established new federal protections against surprise medical bills. Surprise medical bills arise when insured consumers inadvertently receive care from out-of-network hospitals, doctors, or other providers they did not choose. Under the "No Surprises Act," you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate if you are not seeking to file a claim with your insurance plan.
